Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy

We provide comprehensive care for musculoskeletal conditions, including post-surgical rehab for fractures, tendon repairs, and joint replacements. We address mobility impairment from back, neck, and limb pain, and conditions like arthritis, disc herniation, sciatica or tendinosis.  Our services include prescribing and fitting splints and braces, or referral to orthotist when needed. Treatment may include stability training, taping, gait re-education, and manual therapy or modalities like ultrasound and muscle stimulation.

Neurological Physiotherapy

Neurological impairments from stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury, Parkinson’s disease, muscular dystrophy, multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy or developmental disability require diverse treatment approaches. These may comprise motor relearning, strength building exercises, gait training, balance routines, and mobility enhancement. The functional program is family goal based, extends across all aspects of movement and involves the participation of caregivers.

Geriatric Physiotherapy

Our experienced team specializes in elderly care, offering falls prevention exercises, osteoporosis-focused workouts, injury prevention advice, and fracture avoidance tips. We also assist with hip protector fitting and offer recommendation for home safety equipment.  Our therapeutic exercise programs aid post-fracture, post-stroke, and general debility recovery, enhancing strength and mobility for continued activity. Your well-being is our top concern.

Cardiorespiratory Physiotherapy

We offer specialized in-home or clinic based treatment for respiratory conditions like COPD, asthma, chronic bronchitis, emphysema, bronchiectasis, cystic fibrosis, and neurodegenerative diseases affecting peak expiratory flow. We also provide cardiovascular rehabilitation for stabilized cardiac conditions.

We educate family members to assist with breathing and coughing techniques and offer mucus clearance therapies such as percussion, postural drainage, and specialized devices.

Vestibular Physiotherapy

Vestibular dysfunction can cause dizziness, vertigo, imbalance, falls, and reduced mobility. Whitewater Physiotherapy, led by Mark Peever, offers specialized treatment for conditions like BPPV and PPPD.

Mark is skilled in maneuvers to alleviate symptoms and improve balance. He received training from Dr. Fay B. Horak, an expert in vertigo, and completed the Canadian Falls Prevention Curriculum. With 30+ years of clinical experience, Mark has a versatile toolkit for effective treatment.

Walker and Wheelchair Assessment (ADP)

Whitewater Physiotherapy offers assessment for and completion of Assistive Devices Program (ADP) applications for funding from the Ministry of Health for mobility devices.  Mark Peever is a registered ADP authorizer for walkers, standers and wheelchairs, and has over 30 years of experience serving clients of all ages, including those requiring custom seating. He collaborates with local equipment vendors to provide trial and purchase options.

Automobile Accident Rehabilitation

We offer comprehensive treatment for motor vehicle accident (MVA) injuries, both at home and in our clinic. Mark Peever provides specialized treatment for orthopaedic and neurological trauma, including catastrophic injuries, with extensive experience in various clinical settings. Since 1998, he has been dedicated to treating MVA injuries in Renfrew County, including multi-trauma, brain injury and spinal cord injury, continuously expanding his knowledge in physiotherapy through ongoing education courses.

Recovery from Work Related Injuries

Whitewater Physiotherapy is registered with WSIB to provide their musculoskeletal plan of care (MSKPOC). We bill WSIB directly via Telus Health E-Claims. We offer in-home or clinic-based treatment for severe injuries as well as return-to-work planning. Mark Peever is trained in the Matheson Approach for ergonomic evaluation and work hardening. Employers can request ergonomic assessments for injury prevention or for facilitating timely return to work.

Sports Physiotherapy

Concussion Treatment

We provide physiotherapy treatment to assist in recovery from concussion. Once a thorough understanding of the injury is gained from assessment, we provide education regarding steps to recovery, criteria for returning to sport/activity and precautions for minimizing risk of re-injury. We assess for and treat concussion related issues such as headache, dizziness/motion sensitivity, balance impairment, neck pain/stiffness, and visual tracking or stabilization impairments.

Physical Rehabilitation for Canadian Veterans

WWPT is a RSP for PCVRS using ACMS for direct billing. All you need is a referral from your RSPC. We also provide treatment for the VIP through their POC coverage – all we need is your K number. If your injury isn’t covered by VAC, don’t worry, you can still get treatment paid for by your public service EHB via Canada Life.
