Let’s face it. If you play hard, you’re likely to sustain some kind of injury some day. That shouldn’t prevent you from getting back to the sports you love.
Staying fit and having fun will pay dividends to your heart, muscles and bones in the long run, and you’ll be happier knowing you’re getting the right kind of (ie natural) endorphin and dopamine release through exercise instead of from less healthy options.
Mark Peever has over 30 years of experience treating all kinds of sports injuries. In addition, he also has personal experience in many activities including: Hiking, paddling, swimming, water skiing, cycling, running, racquet sports, soccer, volley ball, skating, hockey, skiing and snow boarding. Needless to say, he has also managed to recover from many minor and some not so minor injuries, and remains active in his favourite sports.
Types of treatment provided may include range of motion, stretching, strengthening, gait training, functional exercises, manual therapy, sport-specific training and modalities such as ultrasound, TENS or electrical muscle stimulation.
Check your extended health insurance coverage to see what’s covered. A physician’s referral, although not required by the physiotherapist, may be required by your insurer for reimbursement.
